Window Depot-Cleveland recently installed replacement windows in Zoar Village on a 200+ year old home in East Central Ohio. So where is Zoar Village, you ask? Zoar Village is nestled just a couple miles South of Bolivar, OH, outside Canton. For all the history buffs out there, Zoar was founded in 1817 & is known to be the 1st Communal Settlement in Ohio!
The Marburger family has only been in the historic home for a short time, but knew quickly the windows were in dire need of restoration or repair. After a few decades worth of inclement mid-Ohio weather & a fair share of bee & wasp nests, the Marburgers were eager to tackle the project of replacing their windows. There were many important factors for this job to consider, however. While goals included ridding the home of the stinging insects & sprucing up the windows with more energy efficiency & functionality, Window Depot knew that most of all, the biggest factor was to retain the historic & architectural integrity of the home.
The finished product is truly amazing. When you are outside the property, you can simply see & feel the history of the home; the 200+ years of it’s existence in the village. The new windows blend & fit right in; accentuated by salvaged wooden shutters, original brick chimney, old-world lighting fixtures & beautiful landscape. The Marburger’s home has been resurrected into the 21st century!
